The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with some overlooking a field of corn and others showcasing a beautifully well-managed garden. While some areas needed updating and showed slight evidence of damp, the overall cleanliness and coziness made for a pleasant stay. The service was generally friendly and helpful, although a bit slow with food orders. The location is convenient for exploring nearby beauty spots like Bury St Edmunds, set just behind the village green in a charming small village. The dining experience, featuring local produce and a choice of cooked breakfast, was enjoyable. The facilities were adequate for a comfortable stay.

Staying in the courtyard behind the main building was a peaceful experience for me, my partner, and our furry friend Bobby. The room was lovely, clean, and extremely comfortable, although it was situated in a separate chalet-like building next to the main one. The surrounding area is well-maintained with beautiful flowers and seating areas, making it a perfect retreat close to Bury St Edmunds. The service, while pleasant, required some effort to locate staff for guidance, especially during late afternoons. The standard dining options were satisfactory, but the self-service machine for hot drinks was a surprise. The property is family-friendly and offers a warm atmosphere that feels like home.
